Turning Pointe - Faculty

Joan Bowles has a deep and abiding passion for ballet and the theatrical arts. She graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA in Ballet Performance and a BFA in Theater with a Musical Theater emphasis. Joan has performed and choreographed in multiple venues throughout her career. Among other things, she was the resident choreographer at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. She has shared her love by teaching and inspiring young ballet artists for over 30 years. She is honored to be the Artistic Director and Master Instructor at Turning Pointe Ballet.

Sarah Taylor At the age of five, Sarah started her ballet training as a form of physcial therapy for a congenital hip and fell in love with the art form. She studied at the School of Ballet West, dancing student parts in Ballet West’s Nutcracker. She attended Weber State University and The North American Progressive Montessori Centre. Sarah taught for the Ogden School of Ballet, and was the director of the 28th Street Studio of the Performing Arts. She has been involved in educating children, in one form or another, for more than 30 years. She is currently serving on the Governing and Executive Boards of Ballet West as Vice Chair. Sarah is honored to be the Managing Director and Principal Instructor at Turning Pointe Ballet

Amelia Bowles

Amelia has been studying ballet her entire life and has been teaching for the last decade. Amelia is beyond excited to be part of the teaching staff at Turning Pointe Ballet! Her talents are invaluable as an Assistant Teacher in youth classes and as the Faculty teacher of Ballet Basics, Beginner, and Intermediate adult ballet classes. Amelia has a passion and a drive for excellence for herself as well as those she teaches.

For her "muggle" job, she teaches food and nutrition classes at Northridge High School. She has recently taken up golf and loves to perform in live theater.

Emma Omer

Emma bring passion and enthusiasm for ballet and the performing arts with her to Turning Pointe studio. She started as beginner teen with our studio and now with several years of dancing experience is passionate about helping the next generation of dancers grow in both technique and confidence. As an Apprentice Teacher, Emma offers thoughtful guidance and encouragement, in every class. She love creating a supportive environment, working along side the students where the dancers can feel motivated to improve and inspired to enjoy the art of ballet.
